Are you starting out in your counselling career? Or looking to further your experience with young people? Open Door Leicester offers voluntary work placements for those seeking valuable and varied experience in one-to-one counselling and group support. If you have a Diploma in Counselling and are working towards BACP accreditation, you could apply for one of 15 volunteer positions at Open Door. Our volunteer counsellors will receive regular supervision, mentoring and guidance from a qualified professional, as well as access to in-house training and external development opportunities. You’ll also be eligible for travel expenses from within the city boundary. You’ll be expected to work with Open Door Leicester’s policies, procedures and ethos. For example, you’ll work in ways which respect and empower young people. The amount of time you give is flexible – but you’ll need to see at least two clients per week. References and Criminal Records Bureau checks will be required, as you’ll be working with vulnerable young people.
